A man who was left with injuries after a fall off a seawall path has decided to launch an accident claim for his injuries.
The man fell a total distance of 25 feet as he was walking along the seawall path with his wife. He fell because he simply lost his footing and the impact of hitting the ground below led to several injuries.
The man landed in mud and it took emergency services three hours to rescue him. He was left with a broken leg and five broken ribs as well as a puncture to his lung and injuries to his head. Because of the severe nature of his injuries, the victim has been unable to work since the accident happened.
The victim has decided to make an accident claim for his injuries and the claim is being made against the council, which should maintain the path. The man is also campaigning for railings to be put up along the path, as well as lights for when it’s dark, to improve safety. The council has stated that they do not put barriers and lights along rural paths however.
